Triton Tinta De Toro

Well the election results are in...yeah I got nothing.

Anyway I came across a really cool wine while perusing a local wine shop.

Tempranillo, a dark red grape of Spain has many synonyms. Tinta De Toro, which translates to "Ink of Toro" (region) is one. I actually picked this wine from the shelves because it bears such a cool name. Triton was the son of Neptune in Roman Mythology. They both were gods of rivers and lakes. This relates to wine because Spain's old vines were planted in gravel, sandy soils, created by the Duero river.

2015 Trinton Tinta De Toro

100% Tinta De Toro

Toro, Zamora, España

This is a great Fall wine. Visually it remindsDark and smokey. The nose is full of cedar, wet rock, and dark cherries. On the palate there is black pepper, medium to high tannins and dark chocolate. I would pair the Triton with a lasagna, veggie chili or simply just sitting in front of the fire pit.

Cheers!
