2008 Love Wins , Cuvée
70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay
This wine has a beautiful dark peach color. The nose is full of cherry, flowers & grilled watermelon. There is definite fruitiness on the palate but dry on the finish. I also get fruit skins...from a peach or nectarine. This is a remarkable wine.
I saved this wine specifically for this day. Our 45th president was sworn in today. He won the election & doesnt seem to have much love for anything but money, power & attention. On this day, I am drinking a wine I love to celebrate those who who had to fight for love. This bottle is dedicated to June 26, 2015, the day same sex marriage was legalized. The love put into this wine is also dedicated to"accidental activist," Jim Obergerfell. Jim was a key player in the marriage equality movement. He was in a loving 20 year relationship before he could marry his late husband and he never stopped fighting.
I didnt grow up in house of hate or have a family full of judgement. I have a fabulous transgender aunt who lights up the room when she walks in. I cant imagine trying to control who & when she or anyone chooses to love. Love is love is love.
Cheers to LOVE.
