The weather man has warned my city that we will reach 90 degree temperatures this week. During DC summers, we need add 10 degrees to the temperature to incorporate the humidity. This led to my hunt for humidity fighting wines, with refreshing acidity. Here is the first one I found.

Paul Direder

2015 Müller-Thurgau (Moo-leur Toor-Gow)

Wagram Austria

$11.99 at Old Line Fine Wine

This Austrian wine is compared to a sauvignon blanc with the amount of grapefruit and grassiness on the nose. There is also apricot, white peach and wet rock. On the palate this wine is exquisite and would make an amazing food wine. Lemon on the front, green apple skins on the mid palate, mouth watering acidity and white pepper on the finish. I can imagine sipping this warm day on the deck solo or with a summer meal. I paired this wine with a chilled multicolored pasta with chicken and shrimp. This wine would also be great with shellfish, light salads & Utz.
